Joint activity with JICA

  • 27 Rugby volunteers sent during FY2019
    • 4 women Rugby volunteers sent to Indonesia in August, first time in JICA history
    • Joint Program between JICA and Doshisha University started,
    • Subaru Higa, a former JICA Rugby volunteer to Indonesia, appointed as a coach to Indonesia national team.
    • Yuki Nakano, a former JICA Rugby volunteer to Madagascar, appointed as a coach to Madacascar national women’s sevens team and realised a team tour to Japan, with support from Gujo city. Madagascar and Gujo city have their “Host Town” registration, initiated toward the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
    • Takanori Hattori, a former Rugby volunteer to Kyrgyz, engaged as a liaison officer for Russian national team during RWC2019

Joint activity with Japan Sports Council

  • Seeking to find realistic solution for FY2020 with regard to the Jordan Refugee Camp


  • Plan to go ahead in FY2020, if conditions are to be met
  • Work with Japan International Cooperation Center

Oceania Program

  • Successfully completed with support from Higashi Osaka City in FY2019
